Daybreak at Marsden

My roots are in South Tyneside, and this is one of a series of images taken on the coast at Marsden.

This image is full of movement and activity. In fact the rocks are the only element that is not in a visible state of transition. The tide is busy, the water, a pool of dense liquid. The sun is breaking through the sky and the line of the clouds, suggests that they are also moving inwards towards the shore.

It is the stark comparison between this image and that which can be seen in ‘Gentle as Silence’, that provides a stronger sense of the amount of movement in this latter image. Both were taken on virtually the exact same spot on the beach, within a few short minutes of one another.
