Crash

My roots are in South Tyneside, and this is one of a series of images taken on the coast at Marsden.

The sight of this early morning wave, crashing against the rock and tumultuously throwing itself into the air, cannot fail to demonstrate the unmistakable strength of the sea and her tide.

The hue of the gold sky, silver water and white sunlight against the silhouetted black rock has a simple still quality that further enhances the intensity of the wave.
