Strokkur Iceland

The next three images were taken in the Geysir area. This is a major tourist attraction in Iceland.

As you arrive in the town, you can clearly see a small river running down the side of the road and steam is rising from it. As you look further up the hill the ground is shrouded in what looks like mist, but it is in fact steam rising up from the ground.

This image is taken of the geyser at Strokkur and it captures the moment the hot steam forms a bubble just before it shoots the water 30 to 40 feet into the air.

The geyser is encircled by people waiting and watching, except for the place where the water lands, there is a gap there and that seems to me to be the best place to stand - a warm free shower? What could be better!
