Plam House, Sefton Park

This image is of the magnificent Palm House in Sefton Park, Liverpool.

The park was opened in 1872, but the Palm House was not opened until 1896. A donation of £10,000 was given by Henry Yates Thompson to build it for the people of Liverpool.

By the 1980's it had fallen intro disrepair, but after refurbishment opened again in 2001, and it is truly a wonderful building.

This image is a black and white infra red shot, which to me seems to enhance it's beauty against the dark sky and brilliant white clouds.
